Responsibilities The Surgical and Procedural (S&P) Services - Charge Nurse for Community Health System (CHS) has daily oversight and supportive resourcing of the clinical staff and the management of patient care. They serve as the primary liaison for an assigned care area with physicians, staff, patients, and families. They are responsible for coordinating patient flow and staff assignments and the oversight of patient safety, quality, and regulatory activities within the surgical and procedural area. Accountabilities 1. Serves as the primary contact for care area communication.2. Coordinates patient flow within the care area, facilitates admissions, discharges, and transfers to maximize unit capacity.3. Your daily responsibilities include: Performing physical exams and reviewing medical histories. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.). Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions. Prescribing medications and creating treatment plans. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and facility staff.
