GRADE 21 LOCATION OF POSITION MDH, SETT, Hagerstown, MD Main Purpose of Job This position shall help each resident achieve their best possible health. This position's capacity responsibilities will include directing, providing, monitoring and/or supervising provision of health care services to and on behalf of Center Individuals. This position will help to coordinate with Physicians, Psychologists, Certified Nurse Practitioners, and all other interdisciplinary individuals to ensure that our residents have adequate nursing support. As neither the Potomac Center of the Secure Evaluation Therapeutic Treatment facility (SETT) does not have an on grounds full time medical provider, this position must be able to respond to emergency situations, both medical and behavioral, in accordance with sound nursing practice and applicable policies and procedures, issuing any necessary instructions or directions to staff. This position must necessarily allocate time in such a way as to ensure services provided in respective areas at all times in full compliance with all applicable standards and requirements inclusive of Standard Nursing Practice Act; Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Budget and Management; Office of Health Care Quality; COMAR 10.07.20 and 10.22.10; MEMORANDA OF UNDERSTANDING(S); Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; ICF-IID; Potomac Center and SETT’s Policies and Procedures; and ancillary provisions/practices/protocols arising from or implementing one or more governing standards. Minimum Qualifications Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses. Experience: Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, one year of which must have been in the Medical option. Notes: Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university for the one year of general experience. 2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree in nursing or a health-related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience. 3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
