This inpatient Advanced Practice Provider (APP) role is focused on optimizing care delivery and reducing length of stay for orthopaedic patients, primarily covering post-operative joint replacement, spine, and complex non-elective cases. The APP will work closely with the resident and attending orthopaedic surgeons. The APP will also work with case management to coordinate timely discharges and ensure follow-up care is in place. A key component of the role includes being a reliable clinical presence, especially for those patients with transition-of-care needs from the inpatient and outpatient sides. Treats and evaluates patients; administers advanced nursing care in a particular clinical specialty area under the direction of the licensed physician. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities including diagnosis and the prescription of medical therapeutics or corrective measures in collaboration with and under the direction of the licensed physician.
