This position may delegate responsibilities and provide clinical oversight to other unlicensed nursing staff. This position may be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. This position provides exceptional service to all patients and customers. Coordinate care from all agencies involved in assisting the sexual assault patient and coordinate referrals for appropriate medical and psychological follow-up as needed for each patient. Perform and document a medical-forensic examination on sexual assault patients. This includes obtaining a medical-forensic history; complete a physical and forensic evidence collection examination which includes: Head-to-Toe assessment for trauma, use of a vaginal speculum, and other tools to assist in observing, assessing and documenting the injuries of the patient with the use of photography. Maintain chain of custody for each sexual assault exam and adhere to evidence protocols. Other duties as assigned Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing required. Must complete the initial state minimum 40 hour SANE training and/or provide proof of completion of an adequate SANE training as determined by the Forensic Program Coordinator.
