The OR House Supervisor role varies across practice settings, but is practiced at the point of care, following a cohort of patients with a focus on evidence-based practice, safety, quality, risk reduction and cost containment. The OR House Supervisor may be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. They take responsibility for managing coworkers in the work environment and oversee team work, throughput, promoting professional development, and supporting novice nurses. Assist caregivers with starting of cases and transfers when appropriate. Receive report from previous shift and adjust staffing as necessary, resolving incoming issues.
