Sets up, operates, and troubleshoot various CIED programmers and deciphers complex cardiac device data elements; provides Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), Pacemaker (PM), Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillator (CRTD), Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy-Pacemaker (CRTP) checks in-clinic and via remote follow-up. Manages device data in all available applications and patient medical records; communicates all findings to include indications found during testing; training and educating patients on all aspects of the proper use of transmitting devices; troubleshoots patient compliance issues; schedules appointments for pacemaker monitoring and facilitates appropriate in-office follow up. Performs clinical review and interpretation of in-office or transmitted data and informs EP/Cardiology providers of any urgent device issues; identifies opportunities for process improvements as well as positive problem resolutions. Examines post-implant wound site and performs associated patient care, including suture removal for post-procedure and implanted device patients. The successful applicant will provide care independently and collaboratively with other team members. Duties will include rounding daily with the critical care team, writing daily notes, coordinating the care of patients with the service attending physician and fellow, and participating in teaching opportunities in the clinical setting. Faculty members are encouraged to provide input at regularly held section meetings to address clinical issues and to help ensure the efficient deployment of team resources. As a member of the inpatient care team, the APP will need to provide coverage on weekends and holidays to ensure continuity of care.
