Assesses and evaluates patient’s status by: A. Writing and initiating plan of care B. Regularly re-evaluating patient and family/caregiver needs C. Participating in revising the plan of care as necessary 4. Initiates the plan of care and makes necessary revisions as patient status and needs change. 5. Uses health assessment data to determine nursing diagnosis. 6. Develops a care plan that establishes goals, based on nursing diagnosis and incorporates palliative nursing actions. Includes the patient and the family in the planning process. 7. Initiates appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician in the physician’s plan of care. 8. Counsels the patient and family in meeting nursing and related needs. 9. Responsibilities: Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include: Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff Interviewing patients Obtaining vital signs Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include: Sending and receiving of patient medical records Facilitating patient referrals Preparing forms for patients Requirements: Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred Current BLS certification Our Values As a MultiCare employee, we'll rely on you to reflect our core values of Respect, Integrity, Stewardship, Excellence, Collaboration, Kindness and Joy. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
