Description St. Croix Health is looking for a full-time (0.8 FTE) RN to join our Operating Room! Shift start times vary, hours from 6:30 am - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Off premise call: typically one day every other week Monday through Thursday, 3:30 pm - 7 am, and every 4th weekend (Friday 3:30 pm to Monday 7 am) The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed healthcare professional who delivers therapeutic, patient- and family-centered care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN conducts comprehensive nursing assessments including physical, psychosocial, functional, and educational readiness evaluations to inform individualized care plans. The RN develops, implements, and continuously evaluates these plans to support effective treatment, safe discharge planning, and continuity of care. The RN delegates and supervises care in accordance with the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act, applying clinical judgment and ethical decision-making. In this role, the RN actively integrates evidence-based practice, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and maintains accountability for ongoing professional development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provide skilled patient care Conduct comprehensive and systematic assessment of patients’ behavioral, physical, physiological, and psychosocial health using interviews, observations, and physical exams. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver evidence-based, patient- and family-centered nursing care. Develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care transitions across the continuum while adhering to established standards and outcomes. Provide clear, timely communication to patient and families regarding expected care processes and discharge planning to support optimal outcomes. Evaluate patient responses to care plans and adjust interventions accordingly, incorporating post-discharge needs in coordination with the care team. Deliver safe, competent, and ethical care in accordance with clinical policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring care is culturally sensitive, patient-focused, and evidence-based. Maintain accountability for managing individualized nursing care, ensuring a holistic approach to both patient and family needs. Assess patient and family readiness to learn, providing individualized education and utilizing available resources to meet specific learning needs. Apply clinical standards and protocols to enhance care quality and promote cost-effective use of materials, staff, and technology. Actively participate in urgent and emergent care situations, providing support and intervention as appropriate. Prioritize and advocate for safety of patients, families, visitors, and team members. Function independently within scope of practice and delegate appropriately, ensuring quality outcomes through collaborative practice. Contribute to unit-based patient satisfaction goals and supports the organization’s strategic priorities. 2. Demonstrate personal and professional growth and competent nursing practice Apply knowledge of infection control practices and their direct impact on patient care outcomes. Promote and consistently adheres to best practice in hand hygiene. Utilize critical thinking and sound clinical judgement to guide decision-making in complex patient care situations. Engage in professional development through ongoing education, quality improvement initiatives, and information sharing. Serve as a mentor and clinical resource to peers. 3. Accurate documentation in EMR Document data related to patients’ care, including assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes. 4. Communicate with internal and external customers Communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, manage and evaluate individualized patient treatment plans. Partner with physicians and other healthcare providers to assess, plan, implement, and revise patient care strategies. Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants, ensuring quality and compliance with care standards. Provide education and support to individuals, families, and groups on topics such as disease prevention, wellness, and childbirth, while contributing to the development of health promotion initiatives. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients, families, and communities, including evaluation of home and work environments (role specific) to identify potential health or safety risks. Report patient status and any notable changes to the physician during procedures involving anesthesia. Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans. Evaluate and support the needs of patients’ family members and caregivers to promote holistic, patient-centered care. Requirements Education: Associate’s degree in nursing required; Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred Licensure: Current WI Registered Nurse license required Certifications : BLS required upon hire ACLS completed within 6 months in role PALS completed within 6 months in role AORN Perioperative 101 course completed within 6 months of initiation Experience: Minimum of one-year acute care services experience required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong verbal and active listening skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. The Surgical Services RN Supervisor manages the day-to-day operation of the unit to maximize patient safety, clinical outcomes, customer satisfaction and inter-departmental workflow. Manage employee relations, oversee recruitment and onboarding activities and also assist with performance assessments and competencies. Provide direct patient care when needed. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing many basic care tasks for patients, like grooming, dressing, bathing, eating and exercising. They also assist the nursing staff with medical tasks like taking blood, monitoring vitals with medical equipment and reporting patient behavior and wellbeing. Their role is to ensure patients are comfortable and well cared working under the scope of a Registered Nurse. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assist patients to perform ADLs, such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising Delivers efficient/excellent care to all patients on the unit. Duties include performing ADL’s, transferring, ambulation, dressing, toileting, turning and repositioning, feeding, bathing, etc. Keeps rooms and patient care supplies clean including changing soiled linen, emptying commodes or bedpans Turn or reposition bedridden patients Answer patient call signals to determine patients’ needs Assist patients to eat or drink Undress, wash, and dress patients who are unable to do so themselves Lift or assist others to lift patients to move them on and off beds Supply, collect, or empty bedpans Wash, groom, shave, or drape patients to prepare them for surgery, treatment, or examination 2. Description We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinic Registered Nurse to join our team: Full-time Benefit Eligible (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) Primarily scheduled at our St. Croix Falls location but may need to travel to community clinics to provide support. Description St. Croix Health is looking for full-time (0.9 FTE) Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team! This position will work weekdays (Monday through Friday), with on-call duties assigned as required. The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for handling sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures and Endoscopy. The Surgical Technologist has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The Surgical Technologist has the knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during operative procedures and Endoscopy and is vigilant in the maintenance of the sterile field. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Preoperative Responsibilities: Donning proper surgical attire and personal protective gear (PPE) Reviews, gathers and opens supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure Assists in positioning patient using appropriate positioning supplies and equipment Performs proper hand hygiene to scrub into the sterile field Sets up sterile back table and mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for the procedure Checks equipment prior to the start of the case to assure it is working properly Assists team members with gowning and gloving Assists with draping the patient and establishes the sterile field 2. Intraoperative Responsibilities: Participates in the Universal Protocol including Sign-In, Time-out and Debrief Counts instrumentation, sharps, sponges, and soft goods per the department policy Prepares and anticipates additional instrumentation, equipment, and supplies for usage during the surgical procedure Appropriately passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgical procedure Labels medications, hemostatic agents and irrigation solutions used during the surgical procedure Holds retractors or instruments as directed by the surgeon Coordinates the camera or changes out robotic arms/instruments during endoscopic surgery as directed by the surgeon Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure Prepares sterile dressings and/or immobilization devices Prepares and passes off specimens as appropriate per department policy 3. Reports to nurse on units for written and verbal assignments which include daily use of care plans for assigned residents/tenants before initiating care. Participates in the planning of resident care through shift reports and resident care staffing meetings when assigned. Informs verbally and/or submit in writing any observations and changes in a resident for the licensed nurse to evaluate including dietary intake. Serves residents/tenants their meals; motivates and assists them with intake of nourishment and fluids. Answer all call signals and requests of residents/tenants immediately. Encourages/assist residents/tenants in keeping their rooms clean and orderly; assists with making beds. Maintains nursing unit in a clean and orderly manner. Keeps all residents/tenants’ personal belongings and equipment clean. Escorts residents/tenants to appointments and/or therapy departments as scheduled. Participates in unit activity programs planned for residents/tenants as needed. Attends and participates in unit nursing staff meetings and mandatory in-services. Performs a total inventory of all resident’s possessions on admission, discharge or transfer. Ensures all residents/tenants’ possessions are properly labeled. Responds to resident emergency including bleeding, falls, seizures and performance of Heimlich maneuver. Assists with post-mortem care as assigned. Transports dietary carts and linen carts. This position will work straight night shifts (7pm - 7:30am), every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday. Job Summary The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating the operations of the unit under guidance of the Supervisor, Manager, and/or House Supervisor. The Charge Nurse will lead the team in a professional manner, in accordance with hospital policy, to ensure the highest quality of care and promote positive outcomes.
