Education, Licensure, Registration and Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge, and skills. Current state license. BLS Certification. ACLS preferred, or completed within 1st year of hire PALS preferred or completed within 1st year of hire Essential Functions: Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients. Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/support person in order to address all identified needs. Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient. Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. Maintains up to date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care. Maintains current knowledge/certification/licensure. Pursues professional growth and development. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, collaborative, and courteous environment. Participates in economical utilization ordering of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner. Demonstrates professional commitment through membership in specialty organization and nursing committees. Completes patient charge form, to facilitate accurate billing. What You Will Need: Graduate of an accredited course for registered nurses. BSN preferred. Prior background in oncology. Current Ohio R.N. license; prefer O.C.N. (Oncology Certified Nurse). If not currently certified, Oncology Nursing Certification should be obtained within 1 year once ONCC required hours are met. Current ONS Chemotherapy provider card. Ability to maintain neat and orderly records, reports and forms. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral instructions. Ability to handle difficult telephone and face‑to‑face inquiries. Ability to work in a stressful environment. Ability to lift immobile patients.
