RN Staff - Women & Children Adult ICU - PT -3rd Shift

AICU is an 8-bed Medical/Surgical Adult ICU at the Huntsville Hospital for Women/Children campus. Orientation consists of working with an experienced staff and length of orientation is typically 6-12 weeks depending on experience. AICU is the only adult critical care unit at the Women/Children campus. The AICU offers a challenging workflow for RN’s. AICU receives a variety of patients that includes primarily critical Medical patients, but also Antepartum, Postpartum, GYN Oncology, GYN, ENT, and any adult patient at WC that requires intensive monitoring. The RN’s in AICU are trained to care for a variety of critical situations including hemorrhage, critical OB, CRRT, ventilators, and titrating drips. We have 4-beds wired for fetal monitoring that is monitored by an L&D RN on our campus for our critical Antepartum patient. AICU RN’s are responsible for all Rapid Responses and Code Blue situations for the adult patient population at WC. The staff in AICU works closely with health care providers to provide excellent care and compassion to our customers. Our staff has the opportunity to participate in Shared Governance, Clinical Ladder programs, and CEU offerings available online & at Corporate University. RN PRN 20P - Pediatric ICU - Shift Varies

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is an 11 bed ICU that cares for critically ill children at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children. The PICU is staffed by RNs, NPs, and Pediatric Intensivist who work closely together with a supportive multidisciplinary care team to provide acute care to children from 0-18 years of age. We offer a progressive educational program to train staff in pediatric critical care to include monthly inservices from our physicians. The PICU RN provides care for children and adolescents from 0-18 years of age, with life-threatening or high- acuity conditions that require constant monitoring. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. What You'll Do You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families. Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues. You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly. Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly. You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff.
