A Brief Overview The advanced practice provider (APP) provides patient centered, specialized, evidence based care across the continuum through an interprofessional approach to treatment, research, education and advocacy. APP's are board-certified providers that assume responsibility and accountability for health stabilization, promotion, and maintenance of acute and chronic illness or injury. Essential Functions Responsible for providing safe, comprehensive and compassionate clinical care. Assesses patient, synthesizes and analyzes data, orders diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments, and evaluates clinical outcomes. Maintains accurate log of credentialed procedures performed. Demonstrates competency and expertise when performing credentialed procedures/specialty skills. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) has a specialized skill and knowledge related to the setting in which they practice and perform physical exams, collects and documents data, conducts approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, prescribes appropriate interventions and medications, and provides direct patient care services, according to established evidence-based clinical practice standards.
