Nurse Manager I

Overview The Nurse Manager is responsible for management of clinical services of the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery (MIGS) Division, within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). The Nurse Manager works closely with the MIGS Division Director, MIGS Practice Manager, and Department Administrator to develop, implement, and maintain clinical programs that enhance the quality of care and achieve a high level of patient and provider satisfaction. The Nurse Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day clinical operations and oversight of the MIGS Division in both Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg. The Nurse Manager provides direction and manages professional employees and is accountable for the performance and results of a team within the framework of the OBGYN Department and EVMS Medical Group. Responsibilities Position will be actively involved in daily clinical support functions to ensure the delivery of quality healthcare. These functions will include hands on support and oversight within the MIGS clinical operations at the Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Williamsburg locations, to include nursing, provider, and patient support and coordination throughout the day. Responsible for the tracking, trending, and auditing of daily and monthly clinical performance related to operational metrics and quality measures, ensuring the team is working within their scope of practice and meeting all associated metrics.Provide direct supervision of assigned MIGS clinical staff. Responsible for talent identification, hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members. Responsible for coordination and distribution of clinical staff assignments and schedules. Demonstrate critical thinking skills needed for maintaining optimum clinical care and effective clinical workflow when faced with operational challenges such as provider and staffing shortages, emergency scheduling issues, electronic health record and telephone outages and other variables that frequently present within the clinical environment. Identify gaps in performance of staff and provide counseling, training or performance improvement plans as needed. Develop measurable metrics to ensure performance standards are being met. Develop and implement policies and procedures governing all aspects of clinical operations. Work in clinics as needed. Represent the MIGS clinical team during leadership meetings, trainings and development sessions. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree. Three (3) years of supervisor experience is required. Licensed Virginia RN (or LPNwith equivalent education and/or experience) is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in a Medical Office environment is preferred. Progressively more responsible positions in group practice management, in a large specialty group practice, strongly preferred. Experience in OBGYN is preferred. Location : Location US-VA-Norfolk

Advanced Practice Provider - (Physician Assistant II or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner)

Overview Functions as a physician assistant in the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, Clinical serves to be provided in the following locations/settings: Provide inpatient care as directed by the attending physician. This will include off hours and weekend calls scheduled by rotation with attending physicians. Outpatient services at EVMS Infectious disease clinics and at various Public Health Departments in the service area, and Lake Taylor Transitional Care Hospital. Responsibilities Responsibilities include: Independently assess, diagnose, & develop treatment plans for patients in the area of Infectious Diseases in accordance with protocols and standards of care. Elicits and records a comprehensive and accurate past medical and social history and review of systems for ID and HIV patients. Performs appropriate physical exams and health maintenance, to establish a treatment plan and follow-up care including any need for referrals, physician intervention, or hospitalization. Differentiates between normal and abnormal findings and orders appropriate diagnostic studies. Prescribe, dispense or deliver medications under the practice agreement. Maintains effective communication with physicians and providers regarding individual patient care to develop a coordinated comprehensive care plan on cases involving complex medical or psychosocial issues. Assess learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of individuals and families to tailor education to meet the needs of the individual. Counsels’ patients and their families, when necessary, in areas such as health maintenance, medication adjustments and end of life issues. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and handles all matters professionally with sensitivity to racial, ethnic, and sexual orientation issues. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, residents and the public. Participate in development and implementation of divisional and departmental quality assessment/improvement/research programs and processes as requested. Experience with patients with various types of Infectious Diseases preferred. Must have appropriate state of Virginia licensure to perform expected duties. Serves as the Program Coordinator for the American Diabetes Association (ADA) related to adherence to national standards for Diabetes Self- Management Education. Overview The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will play a pivotal role within the EVMS Department of Medicine, Hospitalist Division, with a focus primarily on night shifts. In this dynamic position, APP will take charge of managing health issues and coordinating healthcare in progressive care or acute care in-patient hospital settings. As an integral part of our team, the APP holds the responsibility of delivering top-notch patient care and medical services to individuals, families, and/or groups within the hospital setting. This includes working independently and collaboratively with a sponsoring physician, and internal medicine residency program teaching teams, providing a wide range of health care services. The scope of practice encompasses conducting thorough health assessments, diagnosing medical conditions, developing personalized medical plans of care, and prescribing/providing treatments and interventions. APP will also play a key role in evaluating patient responses, making referrals, and adeptly managing both acute and stable chronic illnesses. This position offers a unique opportunity to work independently during overnight shifts, showcasing autonomy and expertise.
