Unit: Cardiac, pulmonary & PAD rehabilitation is a structured inpatient and outpatient program designed to help cardiac, pulmonary & vascular patients improve their health outcomes through exercise conditioning and education. The program consists of supervised exercise and cardiac specific education. There is also a maintenance phase of the program, designed to help keep our patient’s heart strong and healthy. The IU Health Bloomington Cardiopulmonary/PAD rehabilitation is located on the 3 rd floor of the facility. We rotate between Cardiac rehab and Pulmonary throughout the week. Responsibilities: The RN for this role helps with a variety of tasks that include, but are not limited to patient education, tele monitoring, charting, assisting patients with their Individual Treatment Plan (ITP), checking vitals, resource management, and more. Although previous cardiac experience is preferred, it is not required. We are looking for a nurse who can connect with patients, and help provide a positive/exciting atmosphere. Shift: This is a PRN opening that rotates on days (7:30am/8:00am/8:30am start times). The RN for this role is expected to work at least 1 Saturday every quarter from 8:00am – 12:00pm. Qualifications Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. The Staff Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served. Non-exempt position. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred. Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Indiana State Board of Nursing. Additional Requirements: CPR/AED/First Aid certification, non violent physical crisis intervention completion & appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining process. Must pass a medication administration exam.
