Summary SUMMARY The Critical Care (Neuro/Trauma) RN manages the care of patients with conditions including: acute neurological insult/injury, respiratory failure, and multi-system failure/multi-system injury. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions consistent with the Critical Care Unit including: ACLS/PALS guidelines, dysrrhymia assessment and intervention, pre and postoperative care, airway and ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication administration, monitoring of neurological devices and intervention, and management of post-transplant patients. Summary SUMMARY The Float Pool RN performs therapeutic nursing interventions and manages the care of patients with conditions common to the various units assigned including, but not limited to: general surgical patients including outpatient surgicals; medical patients including infant to geriatric populations; critically ill patients; neurological patients; renal patients; oncology patients; cardiovascular patients; pediatric patients; subacute and rehab patients; altered mental status patients; orthopedic patients; and OB/gyn patients with the exception of labor and delivery or newborn nursery. Orientation specific to general medical/surgical floors, intensive care units, emergency department, mother/baby, and/or mental health areas will be provided based on areas the employee will be working. Monitors inventory of supplies and communicates information to Practice Manager. 11. *Administers injections, vital signs, vision and auditory testing as delegated. 12. * Prepares patient for x-ray, explains procedures to patient and/or family, and prepares room, equipment and materials as needed. 13. * Transmits x-ray images to radiology group for interpretation. 14. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 15. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 16. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program required. Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Completion of accredited limited radiology technologist program required. Current registration with the State of Nebraska as a Limited Radiographer to perform Core, Chest, Extremities and Spine x-rays.
