Collaborate with the patient/family and with other members of the health care team, including physicians, to revise plan of care as needed. Supervises the care that was delegated to other health care team members. Implement plan of care for patients. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment while maintaining patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights. Determines plan of care based on ethical principles as outlined in the TriHealth Code of Ethical Business and Professional Behavior. Acts as a patient advocate. Delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity. Seeks available resources to help formulate ethical decisions. Prioritizes the workload according to patient’s needs, requests, and the needs of the unit/facility. Recognizes emergency situations, notifies appropriate personnel, and begins emergency measures. Performs initial and ongoing assessment of patient and family. Completes initial assessment tool. Documents ongoing assessment per unit/TriHealth guidelines. Communicates assessment findings to other health care providers as appropriate. Includes health counseling and health teaching needs in assessment. Performs technical skills according to policy and procedure and accepted standards within their area of practice. Safely administers medications/treatments and monitors their effects. Use all equipment in a safe, appropriate manner. Plans care for patients and family based on assessment, standards of care, and optimal specific outcomes. Initiates and individualizes appropriate patient care guidelines/plan of care or clinical pathways. Updates current plan of care as needed based on patient/family input and healthcare needs. Develops both short- and long-term goals with patient/family and healthcare team including discharge planning. Communicates plan of care to others. Salary Statement : The salary for this position traditionally starts at $71,500.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Prioritize and organize the daily care of patients. Make patient care assignments and assist in creating treatment plans in collaboration with other clinical staff. Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of the patients' physical and psychosocial status from admission to discharge. Direct support staff to coordinate the workflow on the unit and communicate problems to the Charge Nurse Supervisor. Administer medications and treatments according to hospital policies and procedures. Develop and implement nursing care plans for nursing diagnosis or treatment plan changes. Complete medication administration supervision monitors and clinical observation notes for support staff. Completes required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms and other records. Educate patients and family members regarding medication, procedures and treatment goals and objectives. Repond and intervene to emergency situations and agitated patients. Provide orientation and support to staff and to the unit. Responsible for ensuring the proper safety and infection control standards are met for the unit. Position: This is a full-time, 12 hour shift position for the OB Department working 7P-7A with 36 hours weekly. This position is working every third weekend, but can be scheduled every other weekend if needed. The applicant will be cross trained to other departments in the facility and will assist in those departments when not needed in OB. Qualifications: Currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio. BSN preferred Current BLS Certification required. Post-Partum, Obstetrical, Labor & Delivery experience preferred. NRP and ACLS Certification preferred, BLS completion required. 1-year Medical/Surgical experience in acute care setting preferred. Skills and Ability: Interpersonal and analytical skills necessary to function under the current standards of nursing practice. Physically able to perform all the functions of the position. Fetal monitoring course required within six months, External Fetal Monitoring Certificate completion within 2 years of hire. NRP certification required within six months. This is a part-time position within the offices of Wayne Primary Care, working 32 hours per week and 64 hours per pay period. Qualifications: Completion or currently enrolled in a recognized LPN or CMA program at an accredited college or university. 1+ years experience in direct patient care, family practice preferred Proficient in medical terminology Prior Phlebotomy experience preferred Responsibilities: Reports for scheduled shifts on time and in a professional manner with regard to behavior, telephone courtesy, dress, identification, and communication with patients’ colleagues, and outside agencies.
