Wellstar Pulmonary Medicine is a well-established, 60+ physician practice with offices throughout the Metro Atlanta area and integration with all Wellstar Hospitals. The practice includes all aspects of pulmonary medicine, including critical care, sleep medicine, outpatient pulmonary, interventional pulmonary, pulmonary rehab, and clinical research. This particular position is for a full-time inpatient provider. It will require 80 hours per two-week pay period. This encompasses 7 total shifts. Six 12 hr shifts (7am - 7pm) and one 8-hour shift (7am-3pm). No nights or call. Weekend requirement is one out of four weekends. Job requirements include collaborating with physicians attending to complete inpatient rounding, assist with new consults and perform bedside procedures. Summary Job Description The Critical Care Transport Nurse transports patients from Critical Cares areas (focus on 7th and 8th floors) to the imaging departments, to decrease delays in procedures and keep nursing staff on the floor. Team would interact directly with the Order Organizer (O2) and the Internal Transport liaisons in the HUB. O2 and Transport would call and schedule with the Critical Care Transport Team (CCTT) around the time the procedure will need to be completed. O2 will communicate, via EPIC, with the primary care RN to complete any required PPRs and prepare the patient ahead of time, at least 30 minutes. CCTT would then report to the unit and receive a brief handoff regarding the patient was being transported. CCTT would take the patient to the destination with all the appropriate equipment and remain with the patient if required. CCTT would then bring the patient directly back to the bed the patient was assigned to and report any events directly to the primary RN/Charge/Manager. This will include a note documented in EPIC by one of the team members. Position: Advanced Practice Provider FTE: PRN/Pool Department: Heart & Vascular Center Location: Grady Memorial Hospital - 80 Jesse Hill Dr. Atlanta, GA Summary The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse who has graduated from a NP program of graduate studies, who has acquired advanced, specialized clinical knowledge and skills to provide health care. The NP performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises and interprets diagnostic and laboratory test, prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. The NP promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. The NP practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professional to treat and manage patient health problems. The roles of the NP includes, direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and communities advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development. Qualifications Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse s required Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as a NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required Master's Degree in Nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing Graduate School NP program is required Previous experience in area of specialty preferred EOE-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals With Disabilities. PRN staff are required to work a minimum of three (12 hour) shifts per schedule, yet hours are based on the needs of the unit(s) and are not guaranteed. (Length of shifts may vary) PRN staff may sign up in advance based on the needs of their home unit or other units within the department and may also be called when needs arise. PRN staff must be flexible with regard to floating to other areas within the department as needed. They are considered the first to float in order to assure safe staffing requirements across the nursing units. Weekend Requirements: One (1) weekend shift per 4- week schedule. (Friday 7pm – Monday 7am) Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) holidays per year: One major (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s) and one minor (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day or Martin Luther King Day).
