Overview The staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities Applies appropriate theory as a basis for decisions regarding nursing practice. The RN shall, for their patient, collaborate in the formulation of the overall plan of care for the patient, as evidenced by written documentation. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs. Qualifications Current California RN License. Current CPR and ACLS certifications required. Completion of Critical Care and Basic Dysrhythmia course if less than 2 years experience. 2 Years ICU experience preferred. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment. The RN has advanced training in this area and provides care utilizing the nursing process, therapeutic environment, treatment and diagnostic processes, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Qualifications Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Current Basic Life Support Level C (Healthcare Provider) certification required. Current ACLS certification preferred. Two years of acute care RN experience and/or approved OR RN training course.
