Night (United States of America) Department: 100 - 604500 TG - 4 South Cardiac Progressive Care Unit Position Description: Assists in providing nursing care of patients by working cooperatively with other team members in maintaining standards of care in the clinical setting. Their frequent contact with patients assists the nurses in utilizing the nursing process. Qualifications: 1. Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF): Requires successful completion of Nurse Aide Training Program. Maintenance of certification is required. 2. RN and LPN Nursing Students: Must have completed basic nursing skills course with clinical experience within their curriculum. Post graduate LPN or RN will be eligible to work as a non licensed employee. Performing only task delegated to a non licensed nursing employee. 3. This person, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and the CST, is responsible for the care and safety of the patients that come under his/her care. Assists with patient care by management of resources on the sterile field. The position allows the Surgical Tech Extern the opportunity to experience hands on work experience, while assisting with patient care by management of resources on the sterile field through delegation of specific tasks and procedures within the realm of the extern duties. Qualifications: Surgical Technologist Student in a CST program and have completed the first year of the program including the skills practicum within the course curriculum.
