Participates in sponge, instrument, and needle count with the circulation nurse. Demonstrates ability to understand and use sterilizers, high-level disinfectors, instrument washers, and other designated processors. Assists with stocking, replenishing and preparation of supplies. Helps to ensure that “specialty carts’, equipment, supplies, etc., are cleaned monthly, checked for outdates as needed. Terminally clean OR at the end of the day. Transports and escorts patients to various areas and for discharge. Assists with the maintenance, selection and preparation of instruments, equipment and supplies necessary to maintain a state of readiness for operative cases. Position consists of flexible shifts to include weekends and holidays. Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.
