  • Monitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome-oriented indicators
  • Actively participates in cost containment and assists in accurate charging for patient services
  • Adjusts care based upon age-specific physiological and psychosocial needs of patients
  • Supports patients in the practice of their cultural and spiritual beliefs within limits of medical regimen
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

 

Education and Formal Training

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure

 

Unit Description

 

The SCU Patient Populations consist of Critical Care, Stepdown, High-Risk Med-Surgical acuity.

The unit consist of 8 bed units that include bedside procedures at bedside that are completed on scheduled and Emergency Need. For Example, Bronchoscopy, Cardioversion, CVC Placement, Intubation, Etc.

Our patients include adult and Geriatric (No Pediatrics)

  • Our Care team consists of a team that provides safe quality care: Registered Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, RN Case Managers, Medical Providers, Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator.
  • Our PCM and Charge Nurses are available to support our clinical needs with access to education, resources, guidelines, and protocols.
  • Our electronic medical record is EPIC.
  • Ratios for SCU include 2:1 ICU, 3-4:1 Stepdown, 5-6:1 Med-Surgical-ICU Staff are cross trained to Med-Surgical Assignment during orientation.
  • We operate 12-hour shifts, Monday through Sunday (24/7), including after hour nights, weekend, and holidays. Shift start times are 0638/1838 and Shift end Times are 0715/1915
  • Requires Every Other Weekend Rotation with Holiday Group Rotation Annually

Work Experience:

  • One year of nursing experience is recommended for application, but New Grad RNs are considered on an Interview/Resume Basis.
