Responsibilities Recommends employment decisions for staff to the director of operations, including decisions to hire, fire, advance, promote or change status. Responsible for o verall quality of patient care and clinical performance of nurses and aides. Organizes clinical operations for the care center. Reviews requests for services and determines patient eligibility/suitability for home care services. Works with intake in coordinating patient referrals and admissions. Oversees scheduling. Oversees payor verification and precertification requirements. Reviews documentation of other staff members and ensures missing, incomplete and/or untimely documentation issues are resolved. Assists clinicians in establishing immediate and long-term patient goals, setting priorities and developing Plan of Care (POC). Regularly evaluates the needs of the patient and makes necessary revisions to the plan of care in collaboration with clinicians. May provide direct patient care on an infrequent basis in times of emergency. Participates in the on-call process. Assists with training of staff to ensure quality care, compliance and fiscal responsibility. Participates in the investigation and resolution of patient/family/physician concerns. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing. Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work. One year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice. One year of RN management experience. Current CPR certification. Overview Supervisor of Nursing Services Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is searching for a delightfully determined, crusadingly compassionate Supervisor of Nursing Services . Responsible for managing the nursing department, this individual will take part in schedule maintenance, hiring and staffing interviews, oversight of nurses in infusion, triage, and navigation, review and promote clinical policies and procedures, staff training, and much more. 5 years of nursing is required, with at least 1 in Oncology. Communicates skillfully with patients and families, triaging problems and needs, and initiating appropriate actions. Documents all communications accurately and appropriately. Assists in maintaining nursing personnel files. Ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met. Provides support and direction as required in the area of clinical research in the practice to ensure staff compliance to the established research protocols. Assists in performing the duties of the OSHA health and safety manager. Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary. Supervises professional nursing staff and indirectly supervises nursing and ancillary clinical staff, including laboratory personnel in some locations. The nursing supervisor may go to Newport, Corvallis, Albany, and even Eugene at times to complete the essential functions of the job. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred. Minimum five (5) years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least one – two (1-2) years oncology experience. One (1) year supervisory experience preferred.
