The program provides expert, individualized care for athletes of all sports and ages. Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care services, determining medical conditions, and preparing patients for examination and treatment under the direction of the Provider. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Hospice teams at Samaritan Health Services support patients and family members through the final stages of their illness. Evergreen Hospice serves patients in Corvallis, Albany, Lebanon and the surrounding areas. These services are offered in the home setting which may include the patient’s own residence, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and adult foster homes. Services offered include intermittent skilled nursing visits (24-hour on-call nursing services available), pain and symptom management, medical social services, counseling, spiritual support, hospice aides, trained hospice volunteers and bereavement support. Summary Occasionally JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Functions as a surgical team member in the operating room working under the direction and supervision of an RN. Primary area of work will be in cardiac open heart with the ability to assist in all area of the OR when needed. Assists in providing care to patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics to assure quality nursing care. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The Operating Room of Surgery provides cardiac care to surgical and procedural sedation patients. We provide service for the patient population of pediatrics, adolescents, adult and elderly patients. We work with a variety of provider specialties in caring for people going home that day or are being admitted to the hospital. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS High School diploma or equivalent required. Current documentation of certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon required. Option 1 Successful completion of a training program for surgical technologists in a branch of the armed forces of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corp. Successful completion of 16 hours of continuing education every two (2) years relevant to the medical-surgical practice of surgical technology. Option 2 Successful completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
