Summary Occasionally JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Performs sexual assault examinations while practicing within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Identifies medical stability or injuries, collects forensic evidence, provides/arranges for counseling and follow up care and testifies in courts when summoned. Collaborates with law enforcement, medical staff and community resources. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION The regional sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) center provides services and resources to Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties in a private and secure facility. Staffed by nurses with specialized training, the SANE center provides immediate medical treatment, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, to patients who have experienced sexual violence. Additional counseling and patient support is also available. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN Licensure required. Two (2) years RN experience required, one (1) year experience must be in an acute care setting. Healthcare Provider BLS required. AGH Sane Nurse Program: IAFN SANE-A or Oregon Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification required within one (1) year of hire. Medical Surgical patients are given the highest standards of professional care by registered nurses and nurse assistants. Specialty certification in Medical Surgical Nursing is strongly encouraged and supported. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required. Healthcare Provider Level BLS required. GSR Med Surg: Successful completion of SHS ECG Monitoring class or an equivalent course approved by management required within six (6) months of hire. ACLS required within six (6) months of hire. Orthopedic and Bariatric experience preferred.
