Ideal candidate will have experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a surgical practice and be able to represent the practice and display a high level of professionalism at all times, building positive relationships throughout the hospital and clinics. Practice highlights A collegial team of 3 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 3 PA-Cs (including this position), 2 RNs and support staff with 40 total Cardiac providers. Assists at surgery as a first or second assistant to a primary cardiothoracic surgeon in 1 of 2 dedicated Cardiac OR’s or our Hybrid OR. Rounds in the ICU and/or CVU, monitoring, assessing and treating patients. The PA will see cardiothoracic patients pre- and post-operatively, both in the clinic and in the hospital--with ~70% of their time providing inpatient services. Assists at surgery as a first or second assistant to a primary cardiothoracic surgeon in 1 of 2 dedicated Cardiac OR’s or our Hybrid OR. Rounds in the ICU and/or CVU, monitoring, assessing and treating patients. Team-based patient care with providers and hospital staff. Longer hours and taking minimal call (1:3) will be required due to patient need with Physician backup available.
