We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our collaborative team at Memorial Health! What You'll Do: Triage patients for severity of illness. Use the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care of the patient. Provide for safe discharge. Educate patients and make appropriate referrals for follow up care. Communicate well with the ED physicians, staff, and other departments. Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. RN licensure in State of Ohio. Emergency Department experience and BLS required. ACLS and PALS certification is required within six months of hire. What You'll Do: Clinical/Technical Recognizes, interprets, documents, and communicates information necessary for quality patient care and related patient information. Carries out the hospital utilization review plan. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and asks clarifying questions regarding documentation, hospital course, and expected date of discharge. Communicates payer resources available for discharge planning to Case Management Team. Understands in-network coverage and out of network insurance coverage and impact on patients served. What You'll Do: Prepare and organizes the operating room, equipment, instruments and supplies per the manufacturer’s instructions for use as required for various surgical procedures; Adheres to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment Anticipates and provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedure(s) Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy. Prepares patient specimens and medications of sterile field according to policy. Sets up and maintains an organized sterile field. Utilizes proper body mechanics in moving, transporting, and positioning patients, stretchers, and/or tables in order to prevent injury to self, patient and other personnel.
