Summary: Reporting to the Clinical Manager and under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director of the Electrophysiology Program, the Clinical Device Specialist Registered Nurse possess a unique skillet that requires critical thinking, autonomy, and expert knowledge of multiple cardiac devices The RN in this role is able to complete tasks of a triage RN, such as phone triage, clinical assessment, appropriate documentation, EKG’s and prescription refills while expanding to perform cardiac device interrogations, interpret collected device information from both in-clinic check and remote transmission, make programming changes to optimize device function while keeping patient safety a priority and produce a concise report of the findings and interventions to the appropriate provider. Summary Reporting to the Clinical Leader or Clinical Manager and under the direction of the practice providers, the Clinical Practice Nurse 1 delivers high quality patient care including assessment, treatment, planning, and care evaluation. The Clinical Practice Nurse 1 uses knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses clinical data reflective of the patient's health status and interprets information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs. It is the sister unit to our 47 bed intermediate care unit. We have 149 employees between the units. You would be hired as a CICU employee, primary CDU, meaning you will be primarily scheduled in CDU with occasional shifts in CICU. The CDU specializes in observation patients with diagnosis such as cardiac, infectious, neuro, and occasionally CICU/Med surg overflow. The CDU has Nurse to patient ratios of 1:3-5 and LNA to patient ratios of 1:10. About the Job: The CDU Registered Nurse delivers care to patients and families with needs ranging from basic to complex utilizing the nursing process.
