Summary Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Cardiovascular Services, the Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and the Cath Lab Nurse Manager, the Cath Lab RN will perform duties necessary to care for patients, ages 18 years and up, undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures at a technical and professional nursing level. The RN will provide pre, intra and post procedural care. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Operates diagnostic imaging equipment and aids the Physician to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system (angiograms) during cardiac catheterization and electro physiology procedures and assists with the implanting of pacemaker and internal defibrillator devices. Education Graduate from a state accredited school of Nursing. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Summary This Registered Nurse (RN) 2 job exists within a designated inpatient specialty area. The Registered Nurse (RN) 2 is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a group of population specific patients for the department /unit, from simple to complex, with multi-system issues in a safe and therapeutic environment.
