The individual is employed to provide patient care as assigned by the Registered Nurse who supervises this “unlicensed” member of the healthcare team. Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict. Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System’s organization policies and procedures. The Benefis CNA Education Assistance Program provides candidates interested in starting a career in healthcare with the opportunity to complete a fully paid CNA training program . Candidates that are awarded the scholarship asked for a one-year work commitment to Benefis and must accept a CNA position with Benefis Health System at a minimum of 20 hours per week. Candidates who accept the Senior Services CNA Education Assistance have the opportunity to begin working as a Resident Care Attendant prior to and/or during the completion of the CNA class. Those who are employed as Resident Care Attendants with Benefis Senior Services will be compensated for their time spent in attendance of CNA classes. Informs the RN/LPN assigned to the patient of any abnormal vital signs and/or changes in the patient’s condition. *Maintains patient privacy as defined by KRMC policies and procedures. *Assists patient with activities of daily living such as ambulation, transferring to a chair, eating, grooming, etc. Monitors patients’ activity to prevent them from harm. *Documents in a timely and efficient manner the care rendered to the patient as defined by KRMC policy and procedures. *Assists the RN/LPN in maintaining unit function by restocking of rooms and supply areas. *Maintains equipment in patient care rooms for safety and cleanliness. *Assists the RN/LPN with maintaining compliance with Medicare and all applicable regulatory standards. *Works with the RN/LPNs to set and maintain priorities for patient care tasks. *Adheres to and upholds all organizational customer service policies and standards while caring for patients, their families and interacting with co-workers and physicians. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. All care is provided under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. This position is located in the Gallatin Rest Home and is responsible for performing a variety of basic resident care services including assisting residents with grooming and hygiene, escorting residents, observing and recording eating habits, assisting residents with socialization and communication skills, and providing various other direct care services as assigned.
