RN Registered Nurse - Patient Diabetes Educator/Wound Care

Department: Diabetic Educators
Schedule: Part time, 12 hrs/week. Monday - Friday, varied day/evening schedule, generally 8 am - 4:30 pm. May have to occasionally adjust schedule to meet patient wound care needs. May be combined with part time Wound Care position for full time hours.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.

Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Educator credentialed from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) preferred.

Education:

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Additional Preferences

BSN preferred.
