Job Description
Functions as a member of the obstetrics team, scrubbing for OB/GYN surgical procedures and providing the obstetrician with necessary instruments in a timely manner. Also, the OB Surgical Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment and securing appropriate supplies, equipment, and instruments for OB/GYN surgical procedures.

In addition to performing the essential functions listed below, the OB Surgical Technician may also be assigned other duties as required.

Educational Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent, required.
Completed OB/GYN Surgical Technician Program, required.

Work Experience

Previous acute care hospital experience preferred.
Previous OB/GYN operating room scrub experience, preferred.

License

Current BLS certification from American heart Association, required.

Skills & Abilities

Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology and English, required.
Emotional stamina to work in stressful environment and relate to patients, hospital staff and visitors, required.
