Job Duties

The Registered Nurse II provides direct nursing care to individuals residing at SEVTC. This role includes assessing health conditions, administering treatments, coordinating care with other healthcare providers, and ensuring the highest level of support to meet individuals’ unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct nursing care, including assessments, medication administration, and treatments.
Monitor individuals’ health conditions and respond to medical emergencies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate and support individuals, families, and staff regarding health conditions and treatments.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
Assist in training staff on healthcare-related procedures and best practices.

This position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.

All new hires must successfully complete the facility’s Pre-service training program. Preservice training class is 10 days long 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Shift Hours:

Monday- Friday and alternating weekends: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Requires a valid Virginia Nursing license or a license in a participating state in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
