About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Pre-Op, you will provide direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care rendered.  Care provided will address physical, psychosocial, rehabilitative, and discharge needs of the patient and his/her family.  Guides and supervises assigned nursing personnel, collaborates with other health care professionals, coordinates ancillary staff, functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of MRHC, and within the legal framework of the State of Oklahoma.   Maintains compliance with department call coverage. This is a full-time position for Pre-Op, plus a call schedule. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to identify health status and care needs.
  • Assesses patients' continuing care needs in preparation for discharge.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and participate in case management.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with legal and institutional standards.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions as needed.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
