About the Role:
As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) working the day or mid shifts, you will play a critical role in delivering immediate and high-quality care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. Your primary objective is to assess, triage, and stabilize patients efficiently while collaborating closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. You will manage a diverse patient population with varying degrees of medical emergencies, ensuring that each individual receives compassionate and evidence-based nursing care. This role demands quick decision-making, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Ultimately, your work will directly impact patient outcomes and contribute to the overall success of the emergency department and hospital system.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- At least one year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or emergency setting.
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing principles, patient assessment, and clinical procedures.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Responsibilities:
- Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians, while continuously monitoring patient responses.
- Identifies and documents nursing diagnosis on the patient’s plan of care.
- Document all patient care activities, observations, and communications thoroughly and accurately in electronic health records.
- Plan of care will include nursing diagnosis statement, 24-hour outcomes, and discharge outcomes for each identified problem.
- Maintain readiness to respond to codes and emergency situations, including performing advanced life support measures when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe care environment.
Skills:
The required skills, such as patient assessment, clinical decision-making, and effective communication, are essential for managing the dynamic and unpredictable nature of emergency care. Proficiency in administering medications and performing emergency interventions ensures timely and appropriate treatment for critical patients.
