Our state-of-the-art hospital in Jacksonville includes 34 operating rooms that include an IMRI OR suite and a dedicated endovascular OR suite. We use the most modern equipment and advanced technology to create an environment that merges the art of healing with the science of medicine. *Qualified applicants must live within a reasonable driving distance to campus to meet 45-minute on-call requirement. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited or military surgical technology program. Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required within one year of hire date and maintained thereafter. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Transports all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areas. Assists in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets. Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background. Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment. Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance and participates in emergency preparedness drills. Follows all equipment and safety guidelines and is responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment. Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team. Attends in-services, conferences, and meetings as required. Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and employees. Job Posting Summary *Up to $7,500 Sign On Bonus* Baptist Health is looking for an experienced Surgical Technologist to support our Surgical Services Team at our Reid Outpatient OR. This Surgical Technologist position is a part-time days position. As a Surgical Technologist at Reid Outpatient OR - No call, No Holiday, No Weekends are required for this position! In lieu of call, you may be required to stay over in the event of case overruns. As a Surgical Technologist for Reid Outpatient OR, your responsibilities include: Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly. Proper disposition of specimens and instruments. Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety. Performs in first assist role in a variety of surgical procedures. Functions as a support to related departments within Surgical Services as needed. No call, no weekends, no holidays Qualifications: Graduation from an Accredited Surgical Technologist CAAHEP or ABHES Program OR - Previous experience working in an Operating Room (OR) setting Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program preferred NBSTA or NCCT, but not required This Surgical Technologist position supporting the Reid Outpatient OR will be located at Baptist Jacksonville.
