Description State of Idaho Opportunity Division of Veterans Services - Caring for America's Heroes This position will remain open until filled; the posting will be taken down once a candidate is selected The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) is recruiting for a temporary, part-time (up to 24 hours per week) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our dedicated team of health care professionals at the State Veterans Home in Boise. We offer 8-hour shifts and have primarily openings on our evening and night shift. If you are an LPN looking for one, two or three shifts per week, we can work with your schedule. Positions regularly scheduled 20 or more hours per week include the full state benefit package. Evening shift employees earn an additional 10% shift differential Night shift employees earn an additional 15% shift differential Responsibilities: Performs practical nursing care or assists a registered nurse or physician in routine to complex situations. Observes, records, and reports residents' treatment, care, symptoms, physical and mental condition, behavior and progress. Administers prescribed medications including intramuscular injections and observes for adverse reactions. Performs treatments including change of sterile dressings, insertion of nasal gastric tubes, catheterization and removal of sutures. Interviews residents to obtain health information and instructs and counsels residents regarding basic health needs. Teaches residents and their families the importance of proper diet, proper positioning, range-of-motion exercises, transfer techniques, and personal hygiene procedures. Charts administered medications, symptoms, accidents, unusual behavior, doctors' visits and observed side effects of drugs. Orders lab and x-ray work under physician's orders. Description State of Idaho Opportunity Idaho Division of Veterans Services – Caring for America's Heroes This position will remain open until filled; the posting will be taken down once a candidate is selected The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) is recruiting for a pool of temporary, part-time Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support our dedicated team of health care professionals at the State Veterans Home in Post Falls. If you are a student looking for one shift a week, we can work with your schedule. We offer 12-hour shifts and currently have openings for all shifts. Night shift employees receive an additional 10% shift differential! Responsibilities: Performs personal nursing care for elderly residents. Determines resident needs and takes and records vital signs. Provides personal hygiene care and maintains a safe and sanitary resident-care environment. Lifts, positions, transports, and escorts residents and assists with walking and other body movements. Feeds residents who require assistance and implements individual resident treatment plans as outlined by supervisor. Records resident care, reporting changes in physical or mental status to health-care team. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Certification: Possession of Nursing Assistant Certification in Idaho and listed in good standings on the Idaho State Nurse Aide Registry OR Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training or competency evaluation program (NATCEP) and eligible for placement on the State Nurse Aide Registry, which requires: Verification of completion of a state-approved NATCEP. Starting wage:$43.33 Shift Differential: 10% for nights 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week Responsibilities: • Assesses, plans, evaluates, implements and monitors resident health problems and care related issues. • Coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all care needs are met. • Administers medications and treatments per provider orders. • Assigns, directs and evaluates LPN and CNA staff in care delivery on assigned shift. Responsibilities: Performs practical nursing care or assists a registered nurse or physician in routine to complex situations. Observes, records, and reports residents' treatment, care, symptoms, physical and mental condition, behavior and progress. Administers prescribed medications including intramuscular injections and observes for adverse reactions. Performs treatments including change of sterile dressings, insertion of nasal gastric tubes, catheterization and removal of sutures. Interviews residents to obtain health information and instructs and counsels residents regarding basic health needs. Teaches residents and their families the importance of proper diet, proper positioning, range-of-motion exercises, transfer techniques, and personal hygiene procedures.
