The Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS) is recruiting for a pool of temporary, part-time Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to support our dedicated team of health care professionals at the State Veterans Home in Post Falls. If you are a student looking for one shift a week, we can work with your schedule.

We offer 12-hour shifts and currently have openings for all shifts.

Night shift employees receive an additional 10% shift differential!

Responsibilities:

Performs personal nursing care for elderly residents.
Determines resident needs and takes and records vital signs.
Provides personal hygiene care and maintains a safe and sanitary resident-care environment.
Lifts, positions, transports, and escorts residents and assists with walking and other body movements.
Feeds residents who require assistance and implements individual resident treatment plans as outlined by supervisor.
Records resident care, reporting changes in physical or mental status to health-care team.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Certification:

Possession of Nursing Assistant Certification in Idaho and listed in good standings on the Idaho State Nurse Aide Registry

Completion of a state-approved nurse aide training or competency evaluation program (NATCEP) and eligible for placement on the State Nurse Aide Registry, which requires:

Verification of completion of a state-approved NATCEP.

AND

Verification the skills competency test has been passed.

AND

Verification the written test has been scheduled for placement on the CNA Registry.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: The Certified Nursing Assistant is a member of the Nurse Next Door team and works under the supervision of the Care Designer or a nurse and performs personal care services contained in a care plan written by a licensed health professional, employed or contracted by the agency. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed. The Certified Nursing Assistant will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care. JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities of the Certified Nursing Assistant include, are to, but are not limited to the following: 1. Provide client care as directed by the Care Designer or Nurse. 2. Provide personal care: a. Bathing Grooming, including oral care Assist the client with dressing and undressing Assist the client with toileting activities, including the use of the bedpan and urinal Provide catheter care including changing the urinary catheter bag Empty ostomy bags, or changing bags that do not adhere to the skin Assist in feeding the client, if necessary Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves Take and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations and blood pressure) Measure and record height and weight, if necessary.
