Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Advanced Practice Nurse Psychiatric Statewide located in Trenton, NJ. The Advanced Practice Nurse reports to the site psychiatrist for clinical matters (e.g. diagnosis and treatment), and to the site administrator for administrative matters (e.g. vacation, timekeeping). The Advanced Practice Nurse, supervised by the site psychiatrist, performs psychiatric evaluations, conducts psychiatric follow-up visits, and prescribes psychiatric medications to inmates within the New Jersey Department of Corrections. The age range of inmates varies from 16 to 65+. In addition, the Advanced Practice Nurse works with a variety of healthcare professionals (e.g. physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses) and correction officers in a correctional environment providing health services to inmates. Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Advanced Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide primary care to homebound and complex care patients in the Philadelphia, PA region on a full-time basis. You will apply medical techniques and principles under the supervision of a physician and you will care for a diverse set of patients with chronic diseases. What You'll Do: Provide high quality care to primary and palliative patients in and around Philadelphia, PA. Assess patient's health by performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories and creating the best plan for care.
