Cardiothoracic specific responsibilities: OR first assisting in Thoracic surgery: Robotic/ Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery and Open Thoracotomy Cases (Lung resections, Lobectomies, Decortications, Pleurodesis). Chest wall reconstruction, Pectus Excavatum Repair, Foregut surgery, Minimally Invasive Esophagectomies, Diaphragmatic, Giant Paraoesophageal, and Hiatal Hernia repairs. Inpatient rounding on post op patients and consults. Outpatient pre and post op clinic. Thoracic call includes Day call (7a-4p: consult pager) Night call (4p-7a includes OR, outpatient and hospital inpatient calls). Night Call obligations 6-8x per month. Procurement call: 2x per month (OR backup or Heart Transplant Donor call with Thoracic Surgeon).
