Job Description Join the University of Chicago Medicine as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for our Inpatient Oncology APP Team. The Advanced Practice Provider will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management and will manage a caseload of patients by exercising autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The APP will provide healthcare and patient services that may include educational, research, and clinical support, as well as complete administrative activities under the direction and supervision of the Director/leadership. The APP has acquired the knowledge, skills, and judgment necessary to assist the physician through organized instruction and supervised practice. The Inpatient Oncology APP Team is an APP-staffed service with the support of a Hematology/Oncology Attending. After an orientation period, the APP will work autonomously and collaboratively with the rest of the APP team, attending, and pharmacist to manage inpatients on the service. The team rounds in the morning and the APPs present patients with their assessments and plans. APPs then carry out the plan for the day, calling consults, placing orders, admitting expected and unexpected admits. This candidate will be trained in the management of both hematologic and solid tumor malignancies, as well as oncologic emergencies (eg neutropenic fever, tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome, neurotoxicity due to therapeutic agents, DIC, HLH, sepsis, and cord compression). Regional Clinical Manager - Nurse Practitioner Position Overview: The Regional Clinical Manager is responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, quality assurance, and performance of nursing staff across multiple facilities within an assigned region.
