TECAB is a highly advanced approach to coronary bypass surgery that avoids opening the chest. As an Advanced Practice Provider , you will be responsible for comprehensive direct patient care management. In this role, the APP will manage a caseload of patients and exercise autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The scope of practice includes family support, discharge planning, staff education, consultation and research. The APP will utilize advance practice skills obtained through the completion of a formal provider program. These skills include advanced levels of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. The APP is also responsible for planning, organizing, and directing patient care efforts in collaboration with medical and surgical physicians and other team members. Department/division specs There are more than 400 APPs employed across the Rush system. The AICU team is fully staffed with 9 APPs. We work closely with many departments (palliative care, hepatology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, etc.) as part of a multidisciplinary approach in the ICU. Duties & Responsibilities We require 12-14 shifts per month on a rotating basis. Some holidays and weekends will be required. The AICU is a 28-bed unit that is staffed by both medical and surgical ICU teams. This position is 100% inpatient. The Department of Neonatology is currently seeking a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) or neonatal pediatric hospitalist, who will work collaboratively with a neonatologist, as well as independently. The position utilizes critical judgement in the performance of delivery room resuscitation, common newborn diagnosis and management, as well as specialized long term care for late preterm infants. This individual will function autonomously, as well as a collaborating member of the neonatal interdisciplinary care team. What you will need: License: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant Associate (PAA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required Education: Completion of Master's level program in specialty area Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider and NRP certifications required. Certification in specialty: NCC certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.
