Description The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for the implementation and conduct of clinical trials with investigational anti-cancer agents in the Cancer Center. The Candidate must have expert knowledge of cancer as a disease process, cancer treatment modalities, and the process of conducting clinical research. The Clinical Program Manager will follow a caseload of patients in the ambulatory setting and assist in the administration and plan of the research program. This position will be primarily assigned to our Downtown Clinical Research Programs which operate at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Chelsea but is expected to move throughout the health care system based on patient needs. Responsibilities Clinical Responsibilities: • Provides exemplary patient care while ensuring the protocol is conducted in a high-quality manner and clinical research documentation is inspection ready. • Responsible for coordinating study enrollment, establishing a database/case load of patients, protocol treatment and follow-up care for patients participating in clinical trials. • Responsible for ensuring protocol adherence and accurate source data. Implement the standards for research protocols in compliance with regulatory, institutional, and external agencies • Collaborates with attending physicians to identify and recruit patients eligible for clinical trial. Oversees scheduling of patient laboratory and radiologic assessments, admissions, and clinic visits and supports investigators with the informed consent process and documentation. • Evaluate, treat and/or triage untoward reactions according to the standard of care and protocol guidelines, prescribe and manage supportive care medications. • Assures the primary nursing staff understands how to administer investigational agents per specifications of the protocol. • Ensures accurate and timely research documentation and works with ancillary departments (i.e. infusion, radiology, etc.) to ensure research is integrated into standard clinical operations. Education Responsibilities: • Develops educational content and delivers nurse-to-nurse education, specifically the education of Nursing Staff regarding specific protocol requirements, treatment administration of investigational agents, coordination of timed or sequenced events (i.e. serial vitals) and the accurate capture of clinical data for the purposes of the study and patient monitoring. • Teach, coach and mentor junior staff; serves as preceptor • Provides routine and ongoing education to patients and families; serves as patient advocate Quality: • Reports unexpected and unanticipated events to institutional offices and committees (i.e. Data safety monitoring, institutional review board, etc.) • Facilitates in/external monitoring and auditing; leads quality improvement and process improvement projects • Responsible for ensuring compliance with core measures and national standards are continuously met and collaborates with key departments, Administrators, Nursing, Medical and Quality Leadership, and Clinical Staff, to coordinate such activities. • Assists in development and execution of action plans to support compliance with measures indicators and provides support and educational resources to departments and services relative to core measures, quality assessment, and improvement processes. Administrative Responsibilities : • Establish and implement effective recruitment and outreach strategies to promote access, inclusion and participation in clinical trials. • Participates in the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data and reports on unit productivity. • Provides coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program activities, as appropriate to program objectives and areas of expertise. Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of clinical program activity data. • Monitor clinical trial portfolio and enrollments to identify opportunities to grow research program. • May supervise licensed or unlicensed staff to ensure protocol compliance, accurate data collection and sample acquisition. Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required. Our year-long residency teaches Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners how to become clinical leaders at the agency and in the field of mental health. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residency includes: Enhanced supervision and support, the heart of our NPP Residency Program. Residents spend the brunt of their time in precepted clinical experiences, where they receive dedicated supervision from seasoned NPPs and psychiatrists who provide individualized supervision throughout the day, including evenings. Residents also work in specialty rotations, where they gain experience providing care to a diversity of clients, with regular supervision and support. In all clinical experiences, residents gradually build their caseloads to avoid the “sink or swim” situation that newly graduated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residents typically encounter. Our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Residency Program encourages leadership and the ability to tackle larger issues related to mental healthcare. Residents take part in weekly didactic sessions to review and discuss stimulating readings, guidelines, case studies, and other learning materials to supplement their clinical development as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. Residents also participate in regular Quality Improvement (QI) experiences, identifying and addressing larger trends impacting mental health care at the agency and beyond. These weekly QI and didactics sessions also provide residents additional supervision and peer support, greatly decreasing the isolation and stress of being a new Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. To provide you with diverse clinical experiences, the residency will include different settings and populations. Residents must be willing and able to travel to different sites throughout our agency, typically 1 day a week on-site. For example, residents may work at our programs in Riverdale, Bronx, and Midwood, Brooklyn. As part of their clinical and leadership development, we expect residents to embrace key roles in leading special projects, like providing therapy and/or meds-only treatment. Upon completion of the year-long Residency, Residency Graduates continue to work at the agency for at least a year as full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, with salaries increasing accordingly. This way, Residency Graduates further develop the relationships formed during their Residency year with their clients, Residency Preceptors, therapists, and program directors. Job description Cordial Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our team. We are a leading healthcare organization providing comprehensive mental health services to patients in nursing homes across Fulton County , NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled PMHNP who is passionate about geriatric psychiatry and committed to improving the mental health and well-being of elderly individuals. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of elderly patients in nursing homes. Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans based on the patient's mental health needs. Provide medication management and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, psychologists, and social workers, to ensure holistic patient care. Offer counseling and psychotherapy services to patients and their families. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Participate in clinical meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York with specialization in Psychiatry (PMHNP). Ability to work independently and effectively manage a caseload of patients. Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment modalities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
