About the Role: Job Summary The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), under the direct and indirect supervision of the Director, facilitates and assists with all levels of nursing care provided to patients within a nursing unit or practice location. He/She coordinates, elevates and resolves problems and conflicts as they occur. The ANM has shift accountability for care delivery, patient flow, matching patient needs with available resources and elevates patient safety concerns/situations as well as any other situation that is unable to be resolved during the shift. In this role, the ANM will coordinate the activities of nursing staff, is accountable for the effective and efficient operation of the unit and staff including stat orders, treatments, plans of care, and clinical pathways are carried out in a consistent manner. Collection of lab specimens and interpreting results. IV implementation and administration. Seizure precautions and administration of IV medication during a seizure. Admits, discharges and transfers patients as requested. Documentation and billing of supplies used. Maintains effective lines of communication with attending physicians. Assists the Director of Nursing Services to coordinate the care planning/MDS process and committee meetings as necessary. Participates in patient screening and selection process as requested.
