Responsibilities The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units. Prepares reports and communicates quality improvement information and activities to appropriate committees, teams, and task forces for the hospital and medical staff. Serves as a communication link from committees, teams, and task forces to the medical staff. Maintains quality data for medical staff reappointment. Qualifications REQUIRED: 1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 3 years experience in a health care field with 1 year of experience related to quality improvement. 2. Good oral and written communication skills. 3. Good organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 4. Ability to function effectively with a wide variety of disciplines, including physicians and nurses. 5. Ability to provide presentations on topics related to quality and regulatory issues. 6. Able to participate as part of a team to accomplish an assigned project. PREFERRED: Previous training as a team leader and facilitator. Assists in staff development, staff education, and patient education related to care. Qualifications REQUIRED BSN graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed as a RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Two years of related clinical nursing experience. Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Graduate of an accredited Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) Nursing Education Program. Board certification in Wound and Ostomy care. PREFERRED Continence Certification preferred. Knowledge of WOC Nursing program development and teaching experience, Work Hours: 8-4:30 Weekend Requirements: Yes- Rotating Basis On-Call Requirements: No
