JOB DESCRIPTION Opportunity for a Texas licensed RN to join Molina to work with our Medicaid members in the South Houston/Pasadena, TX service delivery area. Our Care Managers conduct face-to-face meetings with the members in their homes, completing assessments needed to determine the types of services we will provide. Preference will be given to those candidates with previous experience working with the LTSS population within a Managed Care Organization (MCO). Mileage is reimbursed as part of our benefits package. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a qualified Advanced Practice Provider to provide high quality critical care services under the direction of a physician at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center. What you will do in this role: Demonstrates knowledge of applying surgical gloves using aseptic technique and maintaining a sterile field. Demonstrates knowledge of preparing for surgery by “pulling” the appropriate supplies and instruments for the procedure. Understands and recognizes the different surgical instruments and their applications. Displays appropriate knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology to prepare and assist in surgical procedures. Maintains a safe sterile field by a – positioning sharps correctly b – labeling all medications on sterile field c – understanding of electrocautery and other devices that generate heat to prevent possible fires in the O.R. d – Participating in a “timeout” with rest of the surgical team to maintain patient safety. Demonstrates ability to appropriately set up for a surgical procedure and follow protocol in the counting of supplies/instruments to ensure no foreign object is left inside of the patient. Understands the principles of and can competently assist a surgeon during a procedure and possesses adequate knowledge of the procedure itself. Displays the ability to differentiate sutures and their applications. Demonstrates the ability to close a surgical site (under physician supervision) with appropriate suture. Demonstrates a teamwork approach in the care of a patient during the perioperative phase.
