Job Summary:

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast Freestanding Emergency Department – N. Channel is an off-site 10-bed emergency department located at 6191 East Sam Houston Pkwy N, Houston, TX 77049. At HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast’s 24-Hour Emergency Care patients can expect fast, convenient care with experienced board-certified physicians. All lab work and imaging (digital x-ray, CT scan, and ultrasound) are performed and processed on-site to expedite care. An Emergency Department physician will interpret radiology and lab results, discuss your diagnosis, and review follow-up care. Emergencies are never planned, but when an emergency happens, HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast 24-Hour Emergency Care – offers superior medical care, close to home. What you will do in this role:

Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patient
Meeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment
Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care
Routinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatment
Routinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab tests
Routinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situations
Assumes the responsibility of charging the department, as needed

What qualifications you will need:

Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners

Assesses the patients condition and nursing needs utilizing the nursing process. Provides, directs and evaluates nursing care provided to patients and reports pertinent observations and reactions of patients to physicians and Charge Nurse. Assesses the need for advanced directive information and makes the information available if applicable. Provides appropriate patient and/or family education or training based on assessed needs. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to assist/provide services to patients in relation to growth and development over the life span, including the ability to assist in the identification of requirements relative to age-specific needs. Utilizes appropriate safety precautions and principles of good body mechanics in the provision of direct patient care services. Demonstrates an ability to operate all applicable equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment appropriately. Demonstrates an ability to perform in an accurate and precise manner in crisis and emergency situations when time is essential. Administers medications Documents according to hospital policy.
