The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct nursing care to the residents and supervises the day-to-day activities performed by the Nursing Assistants. Possess the ability and willingness to deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, physicians, associates from multiple departments in and out of NFCH, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to LTC. Possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise personnel. Possess the ability to plan, organize, develop implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. Have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as willingness to handle difficult residents and families. Be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to cooperate them into existing nursing practices. Able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
