Observes, documents, and reports any significant changes in the resident's condition that warrant medical and/or nursing intervention. Completes paperwork for resident physician appointments, transfers, and discharges. Gathers data for entry into the clinical record. Assures the provision of nursing services and takes action to ensure fulfilling resident wishes and promoting the least restrictive alternative of care. Provides direct resident care when needed. Required Education, Experience, Licenses, and Certifications 1 – 3 years’ similar experience required. Current licensure in the state of Oregon as a Registered Nurse required. Patients with specific pediatric oncology diagnosis may be followed until the age of 25 years. Presenting diagnosis may include leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, Bone Marrow Transplants and Graft vs Host Disease patients. Nurses on this unit also provide support to Hem/Onc/BMT patients on other units, to include but not limited to chemotherapy support, expertise with BMT patients and central lines. Required Qualifications PALS, APHON/ONS Chemotherapy New grad, must have had a practicum or capstone in inpatient pediatric setting Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA) BSN preferred Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.
