The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at Britelife Recovery plays a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Nursing and overseeing the nursing department's operations. Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem ALL SHIFTS The Registered Nurse is responsible for the management of an assigned unit on a specific tour of duty. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners. Must be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures. Must be knowledgeable of State and Federal Regulations for Long Term Care. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Know and support the philosophy, goal and objectives of the Nursing Department. Supervise Nursing Assistants and Staff Assistants. Assign resident care responsibilities to nursing personnel based on residents' needs, available staff and unit needs. Collaborate, communicate and cooperate as appropriate with other health care providers to insure quality care, including transcribing physician's orders according to facility procedures. Continually observe/monitor and evaluate quality, quantity and timeliness of nursing care. Deliver treatment modalities according to physicians orders Implement and update care plans as appropriate Ensure documentation is appropriate and accurate at all times Assess need for modification of medical regimen and/or nursing care plan and ensure the clinical records are properly maintained. Direct the delivery of care using sound good judgement while applying the highest standards of care and within the nurse practice act. Provides for and assesses the most complex resident needs to ensure appropriate care Teaches appropriate nursing techniques to residents, staff and/or family. Administer medications and treatments according to physician’s orders and established policy and procedures. Report falls, unusual occurrences and significant changes in resident's condition to the supervisor, physician, caseworker and responsible party according to facility policy and procedures. Initiates and when appropriate completes investigations of resident grievances, incidents, elopements, falls, abuse allegations, and any other unusual incidents that require an investigation. Document according to requirements of facility and maintain strict confidentiality. Give appropriate report in a professional manner to the nurses on next shift according to requirements of facility. Ensure established inventory standards and proper maintenance of equipment is complete. Seek consultation as needed from supervisor. Assist the Unit Manager in conducting team conferences to assist in planning nursing care, problem-solving techniques for unit problems and evaluating staff's involvement and attitude. Attend continuing educational programs relating to responsibilities of the position and professional growth. Act as role model for nursing assistants, licensed staff and other personnel. Maintain and enforce department and facility procedures, fire prevention and safety standards Must be an active participant in the facility’s Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and Performance Improvement Project (PIP) and carry out roles and responsibilities as assigned. Must attend trainings for QAPI, follow policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts, and support QAPI initiatives and findings. Must also report potential or actual non-compliance issues to the facility’s QAPI committee. Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations. Responsible for evaluating work performance evaluations of nursing assistants and those in a direct subordinate role. Responsible for disciplinary action including suspension and termination of nursing assistants when appropriate. · Will possibly be subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.

Staff Development Coordinator- Educator-RN Responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of the Staff Development programs including but not limited to the orientation of all licensed, certified, registered, support nursing employees, along with all other employees of the facility. Will be required to assist with mandatory in-service programs for all staff, and the development and implementation and education of nursing policy and procedures as directed. The RN Educator will help to foster employee retention and recognition activities in the nursing department. The RN Educator will work closely with Staff Development, Human Resources, Department Managers and Nursing Administration to maintain and improve current workforce of in particular nursing staff with emphasis on daily operations of the nursing department and quality of care provided by all facility employees. Essential Requirements: Must be a graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners with 3-5 years of long term care experience. Must currently be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the PA State Board of Nurse Examiners in good standings. Must be knowledgeable of nursing, medical practices and procedures. Must be knowledgeable of all legal regulations, guidelines and best practices that pertain to long-term care. Must act as a role model for nursing assistants, licensed staff, and other personnel. Must be capable of using technology for the use of education (power point development, webex trainings, use of projectors, etc.) Must possess an aptitude for problem solving. About Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Nurse Educator to join our team of professionals . Registered Nurse (RN) Position Summary Provides and/or arranges for facility wide orientation and training programs, in-service education, and other educational programs for the development of facility personnel. Provides orientation to Nursing Department, in-service and educational programs as above. Works closely with all departments and monitor, control and prevent infections at the facility. Registered Nurse (RN) Responsibilities Formulates implements and evaluates policies and procedures for the facility wide In-service programs. Prepares annual calendar and master schedule of mandatory and other pertinent In-service programs. Submits copy to Administrator, Assistant Administrator, Director of Nursing and Personnel Director. Summary: Under the supervision of the DON/ADON the Unit Manager assumes responsibility and accountability for assigned core programs. Leadership is provided to all nursing staff through daily oversight of nursing care on the assigned unit(s). Unit Managers adhere to the standards of care, manage the environment to maintain resident safety, and supervise the resident care activities performed by RN’s, LPN’s and Nursing Assistants. May act on behalf of the DON in his/her absence. Follows all policies and procedures and performs duties as defined by the State Nurse Practice Act. Conducts resident assessments; demonstrates basic knowledge, skill and sound judgement in assessment process and accurately correlates diagnostic data with clinical symptoms. 5. Continually observes, monitors and evaluates quality, quantity, and timeliness of nursing care by directing the work of employees. 6. Assesses those residents with change in condition and notifies physician of pertinent data. 7. Follows up and resolves outstanding resident clinical issues identified at morning clinical meeting. 8. Responsible for overseeing facility core programs. 9. Complies with all applicable laws and regulations. 10. Treats all residents, visitors and staff with courtesy. 11. Attends and participates in in-service trainings, performance improvement, and other committees and meetings as requested. 12. Safety; Knows and follows rules. Demonstrates proper equipment use and reports repair or replacement needs promptly. Follows facility smoking policies. Reports and documents any incident or accident involving residents, staff or visitors to the appropriate party. Performs all duties which may include transport of residents as outlined in the facility disaster plan. Wears required protective equipment. Follows all infection control procedures. 13. Resident Rights; • Knows resident rights and helps residents exercise and protect them. • Reports resident complaints to management. • Maintains confidentiality of resident information. Education/Certifications/Experience • EDUCATION: Possesses a current license to practice in the State as an RN. • CERTIFICATION: Current RN license is required. Employee must be in good standing with the state. Possession of a current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers CPR certificate is required. • EXPERIENCE: Sufficient education in order to perform daily tasks with an understanding of the duties involved. Experience as a Charge Nurse or supervisory experience is preferred.
