ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES: By following the Care Plan that has been completed by the Nursing Supervisor, the Home Health Aide provides assistance with the following: • Maintain a healthy, safe environment. Providing nutritional and environmental support. • Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking and feeding the client. • Position the client when instructed to do so. • Assist with certain treatments and therapy as ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor. • Remind the client to take medications. • Assist with payment of bills ONLY when authorized to do so and it is documented on the assignment sheet. • Run errands when authorized to do so. Documentation on the Aide Charting Sheet daily. • Report any important information or changes in the client's condition to the agency and/or the nursing supervisor when necessary. • Use of medical supplies and equipment when appropriate. • Emotional support and the development of a trusting relationship between the aide and the client. • Encouragement of client independence. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. • Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements with evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate. • Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family and agency personnel. • Have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled. A HOME HEALTH AIDE MUST: • Get along well with others. • Be dependable and trustworthy. • Maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures. • Maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations. Enjoy working with others. • Be a good listener, exhibit empathy for the sick, disabled and elderly, and be sensitive to the feelings of others. • Be neatly dressed and have good personal hygiene habits. • Maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams. • Wear an identification badge while working. FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES: • Able to lift, turn and transfer clients • Able to lift up to 50 pounds. • Must be able to stoop and bend. • Visual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication. • Able to verbalize so that the average person can understand. • Provide direct care according to the established client plan of care. • Carry out a wide variety of tasks under the direction of the nursing supervisor. Occupational Health Nurse-LPN/House Supervisor Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury is a one-of-a-kind rehabilitation and community re-entry facility in Lake Katrine, NY (near Kingston, NY), specializing in: Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Ventilator Care and Ventilator Weaning Neurobehavioral Disorders Complex Medical Recovery We are the largest brain injury treatment program in the world. We are a facility where talented people are given the opportunity to use their special skills, be creative and sometimes push the envelope. RESPONSIBILTIES: Employee Health Services: Conduct pre-employment health screenings, including vital signs, TB testing, and immunization reviews. Administer vaccines, including flu shots and other required immunizations, under the direction of the Occupational Health RN or physician. Provide basic first aid for workplace injuries and illnesses and refer employees to appropriate medical care providers as necessary. Monitor employees returning to work after illness or injury, ensuring compliance with clearance protocols. Infection Control and Monitoring: Support infection control efforts by monitoring employee health for symptoms of communicable diseases.
