Aids in building and maintaining the facility’s reputation as the unparalleled respiratory therapy provider by contribution as a professional member of the staff. · This includes but is not limited to oversight of the following departmental operations: · Consistently demonstrating the facility’s core values by interacting with co-workers, patients and families, with all other persons involved with the patient’s care. · Consistently demonstrating professional standards as outlined in the facility’s Employee Handbook and as communicated by the facility’s management. · Contributing to a positive work team by sharing information, using problem solving methods and accepting new ideas, constructive criticism, or advice from others. · Maintaining close communications within the facility with the director of nursing, nurse managers, and admissions coordinator to assist in development of the respiratory therapy program. · Establishing and maintaining an effective rapport with the facility administrator, MDS, Rehab Director, DON, and medical director. o Demonstrating superior customer service through courtesy, consistent follow-up and positive communication. 6. Responsibilities Assists physicians and nurses in the performance of diagnostic examinations by performing duties such as monitoring vital signs, preparing and positioning the patient, or by performing a variety of routine diagnostic tests such as glucometer test for blood glucose level, collection of urine sample, etc. Assists physicians and nurses in the care and treatment of veteran patients receiving medical, surgical or skilled long term treatment Provides a full range of patient care to complex patients with a variety of physical and/or behavioral problems including personal nursing care, support duties, and treatments Uses good communication skills in dealing with patients, some of whom are unusually difficult to care for or communicate with Complies with universal precaution and with all infection control policies and procedures Makes rounds to ensure visual contact, safety, and comfort of each patient Maintains a safe/clean work environment and completes assigned environmental duties Enters specific information onto the patients' records using the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) Performs direct patient support work including personal patient care and/or basic patient education Cleans bedside tables, stocks linens, cleans wheelchairs, and other direct resident care equipment using appropriate precautions Qualifications Licensed as a CNA Be trained and experienced in either a long-term care, community living center, or hospital setting Has and maintains current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Has no health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with performance of assigned duties No Sponsorship available Position Pays: $21 - $26.09/hr All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist Lift up to 20 lbs Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance Push/pull with 30 lbs of force All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.

Obtain baseline vital signs, weight, height, and complete documentation in computerized patient record system (CPRS). Complete the admissions and discharge process along side with the admissions team. Successfully utilizes the breathalyzer, knowledge of cleaning the device, and appropriately document findings in patient medical record per policy. Completes mandatory and annual competencies for equipment and procedures, adhere to unit-based protocols, maintain a current BLS certification, and work collaboratively with other disciplines in the Medical Center. Participates in in-services and performance improvement activities and customer services programs at unit and service line levels. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Exhibits core elements of performance to include knowledge of unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
